How to Clean Your Karndean !

We though you might like some tips on cleaning you Karndean floor. After all, the floor looks great now its fitted, but you really want to keep it looking fresh and as new looking as possible.

So I thought that I would share an article that I found on the Karndean website. Of course our own staff are on hand to give you all the advice you need, whether its to do with fitting, maintenance or cleaning, we’ve been supplying Karndean for a very long time from our flooring showroom in Basingstoke.

Who really has the time to spend hours cleaning, buffing and polishing their floors? We need a floor that’s made for living, not one that demands attention and takes time away from what we’d really like to be doing.

Luckily, Karndean is designed to be both hardwearing and easy to look after, hurray! Every one of our products is manufactured with an enhanced surface treatment, K Guard+, which helps protect your floor against everyday wear, scuffs and spills – making it easier to keep it looking great for years to come.

This added surface protection, combined with a simple cleaning regime, makes Karndean an easy choice when it comes to flooring practicality – plus it’s stylish, too! What’s more, you can say goodbye to harsh polishes and chemicals and welcome a nice, simple range of three key Karndean cleaning products, making it both easier and more environmentally-friendly to maintain your floor.

For everyday cleaning, simply sweep away any loose dirt and dust, and mix up your Karndean Clean solution with the correct amount of water – a little solution really does go a long way, so be sure to follow the recommended measurements on the label. Once ready, simply mop the floor and then remove any excess liquid.

Every six months to a year, we also recommend a refresh – but don’t worry, it’s just as easy! You can use Karndean’s Remove product to prepare your floor for the protective satin finish coating, Karndean Refresh, which is used to improve the appearance of scratches, as well as helping to prevent any future damage.Watch how simply it really is…

Although our designflooring is durable and easy to care for, we offer a few extra hints and tips to help keep your floor looking great for even longer:

• Mop up any spills as soon as you can to reduce any risk of staining.
• Avoid sliding or dragging furniture or other objects across the floor and use felt protector pads on the bottom of furniture and chair legs to prevent scratching.
• Use entrance mats to protect against grit and moisture, making sure the mats are backed with natural latex rather than rubber.
• Use load bearing castors to protect against indentation from heavy furniture.
• Avoid the use of regular household cleaners, especially bleach-based products, as they could make the floor slippery or cause discolouration.
